Primm Valley Golf Club

The Primm Valley Golf Club is located 45 minutes south of Las Vegas near the California-Nevada border. The town is a popular option for those coming from California looking to save a few miles and time by not going all the way into Las Vegas.

Aside from the two championship courses, Primm Valley is also host to several casinos and resorts.

Each course at Primm Valley is designed by Tom Fazio. The original Lakes Course opened in 1997, followed by the Desert Course in 1999. The courses are both resort style and players of all abilities can score well here.

The par-71 Lakes Course plays 6,945 yards from the black tees and 6,008 yards from the white tees. From the forward green tees, the course stretches 4,842 yards.

No. 10 on the Lakes (aptly named "Temptation") figures to be the most exciting hole on the Lakes for a lot of foursomes passing through. This hole is risk-reward all the way. A drivable 347-yard dogleg left from the back tees, but a big hitter can reach the green with a good poke, but the closer to the green, the more danger awaits you, including a steep slope leading down to water if you come up short. Bunkers dot the right hand side, leaving little room for a safe bailout.

The newer Desert course plays longer than the Lakes at more than 7,100 yards. While each course is a modern desert design, it strays from the "target golf" style commonly employed in the Las Vegas and Valley of the Sun area. Instead, most fairways have long landing zones and many greens feature open fronts, allowing for shots to run up.

Each course, while vintage Fazio, has their own character and are two of the top golf options in the southwestern desert.
